FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: avascular zone of a sclera is exposed transcojunctivally 3-4 mm from a limb to a focused Nd:YAG laser beam. Wave length makes 1,064 nm. The exposure includes packets of 2 pulses supplied in a quasicontinuous mode at pulse energy 4-7 mJ. A target beam is focused on the sclera with shifting a laser focus in the anterior direction from a target point. That is followed by making 5-7 circular lines each consisting of 55-70 staggered non-penetrating transconjunctival applications. A line distance is 0.5-1 mm.
EFFECT: method ensuring the higher clinical effectiveness in an acute attack of glaucoma and providing the stable therapeutic effect, avoiding a cicatrical-sclerotic changes of the sclera tissue by making the non-penetrating transconjunctival applications breaking the scleral surface.
