FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed method consists in equalising wedging of bands at maintaining constant distance between rollers. Optimisation of angle of wedging and decrease of total number of passes is facilitated due to consequent combination of two passes: the pass with vertical displacement of one of the rollers (wedge rolling) and the pass for equalising wedging produced during a preceding pass. Rate of roller vertical displacement is calculated for the first out of combined passes on proposed dependencies. The pass is commenced with a maximum possible reduction; immediately, after complete gripping of the band, approaching of rollers is initiated with a calculated rate up to the end of the pass. Upon reverse of the rollers the second combined pass begins also with maximal possible reduction. The pass is carried out at constant distance between the rollers.
EFFECT: increased reduction in passes on primary and plate mills at reverse wedge rolling and at equalising of wedging.
