FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of rolling strips and ribbons, mainly from hard-to-deformed steels and alloys. Method includes the step-by-step movement of the workpiece and its rolling in the working stand during reciprocating movement and reversing rotation of the rolling rolls. Possibility of increasing the degree of deformation is ensured by the fact that the rolling of the workpiece is carried out with the reciprocating movement of the mill rolls in the direction at which the barrels forming them form an angle of 5–10° with the edge of the workpiece or 45–55° in the course or against the movement of the workpiece, while the deformation of the workpiece is carried out by rolling rolls direct and reverse moves after step-by-step movement of the workpiece at the selected angle of rotation of the mill rolls.
EFFECT: step rolling mill contains the corresponding equipment.
