FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rolling of a rail on a mill with a continuous reversible group of stands. An intermediate rail roll is produced in the reversible roughing stands and further rolled in the continuous reversible group of stands and a calibration stand. The main part of the intermediate rail roll is rolled in the continuous reversible group of stands with an acceleration in the last pass ensuring an "inverse temperature wedge" along the length of the rail for the temperature of the rail web. Rolling in the calibration stand is performed ensuring equal temperature of the web along the length of the finished rail at the end of rolling to result in equal height along the length of the rail.
EFFECT: equal height along the length of the rail is provided.
