FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protective casing designed to entrap fragments of destructed turbine blade and fan housing. Proposed protective casing comprises destructing and holding-up layers made from aramide baric and laid on fan housing. Note that aforesaid layer incorporates prepreg layers made from industrial fabric that features surface density of 145 g/m2 with rupture strength of at least 3500 to 4000 N per weft and warp, or fabric with surface density of 350 g/m2 and rupture strength of at least 6350 N per weft and waft, and aramide thread warp. Surface of the latter has elastic-binder layer applied thereon. Note here that the entire enclosure is glued to the fan housing. Higher-strength-and-higher-durability damp-proof material layer protects the former outer surface. The proposed method comprises cutting of fabric, preparing preprag by spaying elastic binder onto fabric surface. It includes also tape, fabric and aramide fabric preprag layers winding up on the fan housing, polymerising or drying, and squeezing aforesaid layers.
EFFECT: reduced weight of fan housing.
