FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates oil and gas industry and can be used in testing pipes with fractures cause by strain or corrosion. Maximum readings of fault indicator are registered on pipe section that features aforesaid fractures. Fracture maximum depth is estimated and compared to designed magnitude to make decision on repairability of pipe, when detected maximum depth is smaller than calculated one. Otherwise, grooves are cut on above specified section, depth of fractures is defined and data obtained is used to calculate ratio of pipe destruction pressure to flow pressure to be compared to preset its value. Results of comparison are used to make a decision on pipe repairability or replacement.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnoctics.
