FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, particularly, to device for transverse capacitive compensation in 25kV AC traction circuits. Proposed device comprises switch, capacitor bank, reactor, two resistors and two contactors. Note here that 1st resistor is shunted by 1st contactor, while rector shunts the circuit made up of 2nd resistor and 2nd contactor connected in series. Switching ON-circuit comprises closing 2nd contactor block-contact. Note that 2nd contactor OFF-circuit comprises 1st contactor closing block-contact. Mind that 2nd contactor ON-circuit comprises the device ON-button.
EFFECT: reduced voltage and current surges on switching compensation device, higher reliability.
