FIELD: physics; image processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to digital image processing and can be used in security systems, computer vision systems, Earth satellite monitoring systems etc. M"эт" reference sections are selected on the image of the first frame, where M"эт"=4, 5,…. The first M"эт"-1 sections are assigned basic, and the next ones - search. Images of reference sections on the first frame are considered standard. The position of reference sections is determined with sub-pixel accuracy from the data of each frame in the time interval between reception of the current and next frame. Shift and rotation parametres of the background image relative the previous and first frames are determined using coordinates of reference sections on the current and previous frame.
EFFECT: more accurate determination of geometric transformation parametres due to selection of the best reference sections and more accurate calculation of their coordinates.
