FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a linear electron accelerator with a standing wave and to a device for adjusting it, used in non-destructive testing, particularly in radiation medicine. The proposed device has a microwave device, an electron beam emission device, accelerator and a synchronising device, as well as a device for fast electron beam emission. The microwave device starts operating before the electron beam emission device begins to operate in accordance with a pulse clock. The device for fast electron beam emission controls operation of the electron beam emission device such that, the electron beam emission device begins to emit beams of electrons after the microwave device goes out of stable operating conditions, so that the accelerator excites a beam of X-ray radiation. The microwave system and the electron beam emission device in the accelerator do not work at the same time. The electron beam emission system of the accelerator begins to operate only after the automatic frequency control device begins to operate and provides for stable operating conditions.

EFFECT: fast control of radiation dose.
