FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acceleration engineering. Method for adjustment of accelerator by a standing wave includes steps of: generating an electron beam with an electron gun; introduction of electron beam in accelerating tube; and a microwave source for generating and regulating input of microwaves of different frequencies in accelerating tube so that in accelerating tube there is switch between different modes of resonance at a predetermined frequency to generate electron beams with appropriate energy.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of controlling energy of electron beams, without making any changes in design of acceleration system.
