FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method of postoperative complications prevention in hip replacement involves reference points marked in supra-acetabular region and external surface of greater trochanter during approaching a hip joint. The reference point distance is measured prior to and after adjustment of pelvic and femoral endoprosthesis elements in abducted limb position 0°, zero rotation of femur and complete extension of hip joint. With remeasuring the reference point distances, provisional standard sizes of endoprosthesis head are established. After adequate limb length recovery ensured, a test endoprosthesis head is replaced with constant one considering the specified standard size.
EFFECT: method allows improving accuracy in dimensioning the desired lengthening of an operated limb.
