FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: continuous-extrusion reactor comprises 1st and 2nd extruders connected consecutively via an adapter and feature L-to-D ratio of 60:1. It comprises polymer feed and drying zones, transfer zone arranged inside transfer device and 1st injection zone to feed 1st set of reagents. The said set contains 1st functionalising compound and 1st free-radial initiator. Aforesaid 1st injection zone is located in either 1st or 2nd extruder. Proposed extrusion reactor has reaction zone located downstream of injection zone for reaction of the said 1st set of regents with polymer to produce frat polymer, and modification zone shifted downstream of reaction zone to reduce mean molecular weight of graft polymer.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
