FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: steel contains carbon, silicon, manganese, vanadium, copper, chrome, nickel, calcium, nitrogen, iron and admixtures of sulfur, phosphorus, aluminium, oxygen and hydrogen, at following correlation of components, in wt %: carbon 0.60-0.78, silicon 0.27-0.35, manganese 0.80-0.95, vanadium 0.07-0.12, chrome 0.05-0.30, nickel 0.03-0.30, copper 0.03-0.30, nitrogen 0.012-0.020, calcium not more than 0.005 up to 0.008, sulfur not more than 0.020, phosphorus not more than 0.020, aluminium not more than 0,005, oxygen not more than 0.0025, hydrogen not more than 0.0002, iron is the rest.
EFFECT: there are increased mechanical properties and solidity of steel, it is increased service durability of railway wheels.
