FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, namely to an all-rolled steel wheel for wheel sets of freight cars and track machines of mainline railways. The all-rolled wheel is made of steel containing components at the following ratio, wt. %: carbon from more than 0.73 to 0.78, manganese 0.60-1.00, silicon 0.22-0.65, vanadium 0.05-0.15, chromium 0.2-0.4, sulfur 0.005-0.015, phosphorus no more than 0.02, nickel no more than 0.35, copper no more than 0.25, molybdenum no more than 0.08, titanium no more than 0.03, niobium no more than 0.01, iron and unavoidable impurities, including hydrogen no more than 0.00015% being the rest.
EFFECT: wheel has high mechanical properties and hardness up to 360-400 HB to a depth of 30 mm from the rolling surface and up to at least 330 HB to a depth of 50 mm from the rolling surface without intensification of the quenching process, which makes it possible to avoid the occurrence of high residual stresses.
