FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: alarm device has light sources, placed under transparent plafonds, attached at the edges of a frame on the roof of a vehicle. An acoustic unit is mounted at the centre of the frame separate from it. There is a switching device connected to the light sources, microphone and acoustic unit. The plafonds have a flat streamlined shape, and the light sources are in form of light-emitting diodes, divided into four zones, two in each plafond, and are fixed to a mounting rack with possibility of generating a light signal within the limits of a horizontal angle of view of 360° or 180° under condition of its visibility from the front or rear side of the vehicle. Each zone of light-emitting diodes is connected to the switching device with possibility of simultaneous or successive radiation of these zones. The microphone has indicators of the light signal mode. The light sources generate an intermittent light signal with given frequency, directed parallel the plane of motion of the vehicle, with angle of view of 360° or 180° in the horizontal plane on the front or rear side of the vehicle. The intermittent light signal is divided into four radiation zones by the switching device, forming right and left front and right and left rear radiation zones of the same or different colour in the direction of motion of the vehicle. Switching of the radiation of zones is controlled with possibility of simultaneous or successive radiation. The flashing modes of indicators on the microphone correspond to the light signal modes.

EFFECT: improved identification of field service vehicles in heavy traffic.
