FLAP GATE FOR COMPOSITE AND CARDBOARD PACKAGES WITH AUTOMATIC PACKAGE OPENING BY COVER FLAPPING Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B65D5/74 

FIELD: packing industry.

SUBSTANCE: flap gate consists of a basic frame element designed for welding or gluing to the composite or cardboard package by its lower flat side. The basic element is fitted by a ring console projecting upwards to form an outpouring connecting nipple being open into inside. A cover is also set on the basic element for flapping and reclosing latching. A tongue fixed in the supports is passing through the open console side and can rotate in respect to the basic element. The rotation axis of the tongue is placed parallel and directly before the cover axis. Means for forced closing are placed between the cover and the tongue, at cover flapping they ensure forced movement of the tongue downwards and contrary to the cover movement with simultaneous cutting or breaking and downward bending of the package section placed under the gate. In case of side view the cover turns clockwise and the tongue counterclockwise.

EFFECT: flap gate ensuring clean, easy and full opening of a cover and its reliable holding in the open state.
