FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be implemented for fabrication of parts of friction units operating at temperature up to 600°C used in aircraft, ship building, automobile and other branches of industry. Powder of quazi-crystals Al-Cu-Fe is placed into a press-mould, is soaked with melt of tin or lead at temperature 300-400°C and pressure not over 400 MPa and crumbled. Produced powder is mixed with powder of copper matrix, is pressed and thus produced mixture is extruded.

EFFECT: production of isotropic metal composite material of high degree of thermo-chemical stability, wear resistance and defect-free structure.
