FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to composites with an aluminum matrix and reinforcement titanium carbide nanoparticles. Composite comprises reinforcement titanium carbide nanoparticles of round shape with a size of 5–500 nm in an amount of 1–50 vol% of the total volume of the composite and an aluminum matrix having a cast structure. Method comprises producing composite pellets by mechanically doping a mixture containing a first precursor for the synthesis of titanium carbide, consisting of a nanodiamond powder, second precursor for the synthesis of titanium carbide in the form of titanium powder and aluminum as a matrix material in an amount of 20–60 wt% for 1–10 hours, providing "in situ" synthesis of reinforcement titanium carbide nanoparticles. Resulting composite pellets are placed in a melt of aluminum or an aluminum alloy, mixed and crystallized to form a molded matrix structure.
EFFECT: mechanical characteristics of the composite are improved.
