FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser technology and can be used, for example in low-temperature plasma physics and biology. The singlet oxygen generator based on high-frequency discharge in a gas stream for an iodine laser contains a discharge tube, a source of high-frequency energy, connected to an anode and a cathode which are insulated from each other, placed around the discharge tube and form a gas discharge interval, a system for pumping gaseous oxygen through the gas discharge interval, in which, with the aim of increasing output of singlet oxygen through increased pressure of the gaseous medium and removal of atomic oxygen, the diametre of the discharge tube is equal to 7-10 mm, the inner surface of the discharge tube is coated with a layer of mercury oxide, and the frequency of the source of high-frequency energy is 160 MHz.
EFFECT: generator allows for obtaining 10-15% singlet oxygen from initial concentration of oxygen in the gas while maintaining energy efficiency level of 4-6%.
