FIELD: quantum electronics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed oxygen-iodine laser has mixing chamber for iodine and gaseous medium enriched with singlet oxygen, device for feeding iodine to mixing chamber, optical resonator for generating coherent radiation at 1.315 μm wavelength on magneto-dipole transition of iodine atom from I(2P1/2) to I(2P3/2) level (I2), as well as device for feeding oxygen-containing gaseous mixture to gas circuit, and supersonic gas flow device. Newly introduced in laser are discharge chamber that has power supply and wide-aperture electron accelerator controlling self-maintained discharge in mentioned discharge chamber wherein singlet oxygen is produced in gas discharge, as well as CO-laser optical resonator for additional generation of radiation with wavelength λ = 2.7 μm at oscillating-rotating transitions of carbon oxide molecule state disposed in discharge chamber or past optical resonator for generating coherent radiation on 1.315 μm wavelength. One of following gaseous media is used as gas mixture: (O2 : Ar), (O2 : He), (O2 : Co : Ar), (O2 : H2 : Ar), (O2 : D2 : Ar). In addition, this oxygen-iodine laser has closed gas circuit incorporating additional supersonic diffuser, heat-transfer apparatuses, work-mixture water evacuation system, gas pumping device, and revolving elbows.
EFFECT: provision for dispensing with chemical reactors, improved design of laser.
