SUBSTANCE: device comprises facilities for calculation of sums of absolute values of acceleration of appropriate tyres based on speeds of wheels rotation, facilities for comparison of specified calculated sums of absolute values of acceleration in appropriate tyres and facilities for detection of tyre air pressure deviation from norm, when sum of absolutes values of this tyre acceleration exceeds sums of absolute values of acceleration in other tyres. Method accordingly includes the following operations: calculation of sums of absolute values of acceleration of appropriate tyres based on speeds of appropriate wheels rotation, comparison of specified calculated sums of absolute values of acceleration in appropriate tyres and detection of tyre air pressure deviation from norm, when sum of absolutes values of this tyre acceleration exceeds sums of absolute values of acceleration in other tyres.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of detection of tyre air pressure deviation from norm.
