Signal tape (1) spread in length comprises signal elements (2, 3), every of which comprises at least two different information pieces related to optical, magnetic properties or properties related to reflection of electromagnet waves from signal sections (2, 3) perceived at least by one detector (7-9). Information related to the same properties in alternative signal elements (2, 3) varies. Signal tape is used to detect condition of moving object, in particular lift cabin.

EFFECT: provision of safety and control of moving object speed.
