FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to simulation in astrophysics and allows for demonstrating the drift mechanism of harmonics of a geomagnetic field and investigating the relationship between drift and crystallisation and melting processes on the surface of the solid core of a planet. A load is immersed in a vessel with liquid and is suspended on a thread, the top end of which can synchronously rotate with the load. A cantilever is inclined to the horizontal plane. A motor is mounted on the cantilever and is connected to a driven shaft, which passes through the opening of the cantilever. A clamp is placed at the bottom of the driven shaft, and the ends of the clamp are attached to the body of an eccentric. A crank shaft with the shape of a bent axle is fitted into the socket of the body of the eccentric. The top end of the crankshaft is directed along the driven shaft, and the bottom end is directed vertically. There are bearings at the top and bottom ends of the crankshaft. A ring with a crossbar, which holds the top end of the thread on which the load is suspended, is worn at the bottom bearing. The angular drift indicator is in form of a rod, the bottom end of which is attached to the load, and the top end lies above the free liquid surface. The load has a mark and is suspended on a thread.
EFFECT: clearer simulation of rotation a solid core about an axis, inclined to the surface of its orbital motion inside the mantle.
