FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmology and can be used to predict age-specific cataract type in human prior to contraction thereof. Said method is based on the detected fundamental differences in neurotrophic control of age-specific cortical and nuclear cataract development processes in human. Functional condition of vegetative nervous system of the patient is assessed. It involves the reactive hyperaemia test on forearm skin to detect red or white dermographism. Then hemodynamics type - hypokinetic or hyperkinetic - is determined. Arterial pressure and minute heart rate are measured that is followed with determination of hemodynamics type and calculation of Kerdo vegetation index. Method allows predicting development of nuclear or cortical age-specific cataract in a patient older than 50 years and managing an early directed drug correction of pre-clinical lens changes.
EFFECT: it ensures cost saving in government financing for medical actions, including due to reduced number of patients requiring surgical service.
