SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, particularly psychiatry, and can be applied in complex treatment of schizophrenia. Family psychotherapy is performed in 8 stages along with psychopharmacotherapy, psychological trainings, social skill training: at the 1st stage, when a family applies for help, psychotherapist discusses with the family members if the whole family should be present at the session and perform all directives of psychotherapist. At the 2nd stage family members develop uniform approaches to solving problems related to maintaining regular practice of prescribed treatment and coping with hazardous behavior of the patient. At the 3rd stage psychotherapist makes point that he/she is not a family member and cannot be the leader, and lets the family choose leader out their numbers to restore family hierarchy. At the 4th stage direct or paradox regulations of psychotherapist prescriptions are elaborated. At the 5th stage prescription implementation is monitored, attention of family members drawn to pathological stereotypes of family relations. At the 6th stage family is prepared for possible recurrence by paradox prescriptions in order to cause subconscious resistance to disease exacerbation. At the 7th stage recurrence is arrested by medication and behavior methods by family members in calm and assured attitude, using knowledge obtained during psychological trainings, with minimum consulting and psychotherapeutic assistance. 8th stage involves transition to personal-centered psychotherapy for the patient and his/her family members, if necessary.

EFFECT: eliminated pathological stereotypes of family communication, enhanced efficiency of schizophrenic case treatment and diagnostics.
