SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, particularly psychiatry, and can be applied in complex treatment of schizophrenia. Family psychotherapy is performed in 8 stages along with psychopharmacotherapy, psychological trainings, social skill training: at the 1^st stage, when a family applies for help, psychotherapist discusses with the family members if the whole family should be present at the session and perform all directives of psychotherapist. At the 2^nd stage family members develop uniform approaches to solving problems related to maintaining regular practice of prescribed treatment and coping with hazardous behavior of the patient. At the 3^rd stage psychotherapist makes point that he/she is not a family member and cannot be the leader, and lets the family choose leader out their numbers to restore family hierarchy. At the 4^th stage direct or paradox regulations of psychotherapist prescriptions are elaborated. At the 5^th stage prescription implementation is monitored, attention of family members drawn to pathological stereotypes of family relations. At the 6^th stage family is prepared for possible recurrence by paradox prescriptions in order to cause subconscious resistance to disease exacerbation. At the 7^th stage recurrence is arrested by medication and behavior methods by family members in calm and assured attitude, using knowledge obtained during psychological trainings, with minimum consulting and psychotherapeutic assistance. 8^th stage involves transition to personal-centered psychotherapy for the patient and his/her family members, if necessary.

EFFECT: eliminated pathological stereotypes of family communication, enhanced efficiency of schizophrenic case treatment and diagnostics.
