FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to psychiatry, and can be used in complex treatment of computer addiction. By clinical method symptoms of disorder are determined: pathological drive to computer activity, loss of quantity control, symptom of psychic comfort/discomfort connected with computer activity, symptom of physical comfort/discomfort connected with computer activity, change of forms of realisation of pathological drive to computer activity, growth of tolerance, disappearance of protecting signs, accentuation of personality, deformation of personality, degradation of personality. Their manifestation is assessed by 4-point scale, where 1 is minimal symptom manifestation, detected only in active interview, 2 corresponds to mild manifestation of symptom, described by patients themselves and moderately influencing their behaviour, 3 corresponds to considerable manifestation of symptom, described by patients and people who surround them, noticeably influencing their behaviour, 4 is maximal manifestation of symptom, determining patient's behavior and life activity; after that, coefficient of progression is determined as ratio of the sum of points of symptom assessment to duration of disorder in years. If coefficient is lower than 12, complex help, combining psycopharmacotherapy and psychotherapy, is rendered in out-patient clinic, if coefficient equals or is higher than 12, hospital treatment is administered.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase individualised complex therapy of addiction, increase efficiency of therapeutic and preventive measures, prevent disorder recurrences.
