FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of separating components of a suspension, containing particles of a copolymer (i) C4-C7 isomonoolefin and para-alkylstyrene or (ii) C4-C6 isoolefin and multiolefin, monomers and diluent; obtained and separated polymers are widely used in making chambers and inner linings in the tyre industry, as well as packages for accumulators and pharmaceutical packing accessories, glues, sealing agents etc. The components are separated as follows. A first suspension is prepared, containing particles of copolymer (i) and (ii), monomers and a diluent. The diluent contains one or more flurohydrocarbons (FHC) of formula: CxHyFz, in which x is an integer from 1 to 40 and y and z are integers greater than or equal to one. The first suspension is passed through a filter to obtain a second suspension with separation of polymer particles from monomers and diluent, where the first suspension flows at a tangent to the surface of the filter. Polymer particles are separated and monomers and diluent of the second suspension are returned to the process.
EFFECT: presence of fluorohydrocabons as diluent in the proposed method reduces stickiness of polymer particles of the end product, and therefore reduces their agglomeration, thereby reducing pollution of the reactor and increasing rate of separation of the end polymer from unreacted monomer and diluent.
