FIELD: production of butyl rubbers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for producing isoolefin polymers by preparing a reaction medium containing a single diluent, an isoolefin, a multiolefin and an aluminum compound with a tertiary ether as an initiating system, where the molar ratio of the tertiary ether to the sum of aluminium atoms from the aluminium compounds used is from 0.001 to 0.200, followed by polymerization of monomers in a reaction medium in presence of a given initiator system at a temperature ranging from -100°C to -60°C to form the resulting medium, wherein the resulting isoolefin polymer contains butyl rubber having a molar ratio of 1,4-isoprene to branched structure from 14.0 to 20.0; variants of butyl rubbers for manufacturing of rubber products obtained by the proposed method, and a mixture containing the proposed butyl rubber.
EFFECT: provision of a universal method for producing high-quality isoolefin polymers, such as polyisobutene or butyl rubber, with improved process control.
