FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: induction motor drive comprises induction motor with phase-wound rotor, thyristor switch in stator circuit, current controller, current transducer, and rotor position pickup coupled with induction motor shaft. In compliance with this invention, thyristor switch comprises additionally two thyristors connected in series. Anode of first additional thyristor is connected with cathode of second additional thyristor and to supply circuit neutral. Cathode of first additional thyristor is connected to the switch cathode point, while anode of second additional thyristor is connected to the switch anode point. Depending upon motor rotor position pickup signal, control pulses are sent to two thyristors of two phases or one phase and rotor stator circuit neutral.

EFFECT: higher efficiency, expanded performances.
