FIELD: electrical engineering; electric drives for pumps, conveyers, fans, and other general industrial mechanisms.

SUBSTANCE: proposed induction motor drive has thyristor switching unit in slip-ring motor stator circuit. Series-connected between cathode and anode groups of thyristor switching unit are motor rotor winding and rotor current sensor. Connected to first control input of thyristor switching unit is current regulator lead and to second control input, rotor position sensor lead mechanically coupled with slip-ring induction motor shaft. First control input of current regulator is connected to driving voltage supply, its value being proportional to desired stator current; second control input of current regulator is connected to current sensor lead. Control pulses are supplied to two thyristors of motor stator two phases whose phase zone is crossed by magnetic axis of rotor winding in response to signal arriving from rotor position sensor.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and improved control characteristics of electric drive.
