SUBSTANCE: method includes the receipt of the images of gray lemmings as a digital matrix |m×n| of discrete count of the dependence of signal amplitude A(x,y) from space coordinates. Also it includes carrying out the calculation of the volumetric matrix spectrum, definition of medium frequency of spatial spectrum (Fav) and the diametre of crown of the tree (Dav=1/Fav). The method also includes the calculation of the area of leaf canopy relief (Sp) of the analysed spot, calculation of reserve V[m3/ha] with the numeric characteristics of the matrix and mass table, monitoring the changes of the parametres in the same vegetative season with the time interval of several years. Method includes simultaneous measurement of the spectral radiance coefficients (SRC) in green (G) and red (R) areas of the visible diapason of spectrum with simultaneous two-dimensional image acquisition in these areas. Photosynthetic index Ph=G/R is calculated as a ratio of average values SRC in green and red zones. Method includes the identification of the increase of productivity δV/δt=ΔV/L for time interval of several years, With the value of the increase of productivity δV/δt=ΔV/L, height of the average tree plantation Hav1 = H(Dav1) and the scale of quality of locality characteristics the class of quality of locality is identified where L - is the monitoring interval, [years], Ph1; Ph2 - calculated values of photosynthetic index in the beginning and in end of the monitoring interval, Dav1, Dav2 - diametre of crown of the tree in the beginning and in the end of the monitoring interval, C1, C2 - completeness of the plantation in the beginning and in end of the monitoring interval.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the accuracy and productivity of the definition of the quality of locality of the plantation.
