FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention can be used for producing antifriction products and coats. Initial cryptocrystalline graphite is activated in mill-type activator to grain size no exceeding 10 mcm and sintered at 800° to 1000°C for 2 to 5 h. Resultant product is oxidised, washed, dried and thermally treated in thermal-shock conditions.
EFFECT: obtained expanded cryptocrystalline graphite features bulk weight of 0,0022 to 0,0043 g/cm3 which means 30 to 40 % reduction as compared to initial graphite.
