FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to animal husbandry and veterinary science. The method involves introduction of humic turf agent into diet. Thus as humic turf agent, a substance prepared of turf with 1.0% ammonia liquor and 1.75% hydrogen peroxide in the ratio 1:5:5 at heating to 140°C. The prepared mother liquor is diluted to 1% content of humic acids and applied daily once a day in a dose 0.125-0.25 ml/kg of live weight for two courses of 25-28 days. The interval between the two following courses is 60 days, and the first course is started one month prior to calving.
EFFECT: method allows lowering level of liver disease incidence in animals and reducing risk of pathological calving.
