FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: ammonium sulphate is produced from neutralising spent sulphuric acid from sulphuric acid alkylation of isobutane with olefins, containing organic impurities in form of organic sulphoacids and sulphoesters, with ammonia in the presence of an extractant. The extractant used is wastes from alcohol production - ethanol head impurities, containing 70 to 96% ethanol, or intermediate fraction of ethanol, containing 50-75% ethanol, with mass ratio of sulphuric acid in terms of monohydrate to extractant equal to 1:0.4-0.9. The organic layer formed is separated from the aqueous layer. The latter is evaporated and dried.
EFFECT: cheaper process, wider raw material base and obtaining product which does not contain organic impurities.
