FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal deformation process, particularly to vibration treatment. Billet is installed by front butt into deforming element with providing of support of its back butt. It is implemented lengthwise movement of billet and impact by cyclic effort in radial and axial directions on surface of billet by means of deforming element for deformation of billet. It is formed by means of deforming element progressive wave lengthwise the billet, it is regulated degree of deformation by means of changing of amplitude value of progressive wave and rate of deformation by means of changing of progressive wave frequency. For increasing of amplitude value of progressive wave it is installed frequency exciting resonance which is defined by means of measurement of changing of current passing through billet.
EFFECT: increased accuracy and quality of treated surface of billet at simultaneous reduction of consumed power and simplification of manufacturing equipment.
