FIELD: printing industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to multilayer protective element for various types of printing produce, also for banknotes, securities, credit cards, documents, certificates and other similar items, and also to method of its production, counterfeit-protected material and printing item with such element. Protective element on the basis of multilayer transparent colour-contrast damaged polymer structure comprises polymer base, at least one adhesive layer and polymer light-sensitive transparent and/or semi-transparent layers with activity for personalisation, at least one of which is a colour-contrast layer in the form of multilayer structure. At least one of layers in multilayer structure, which provides for variation of colour-contrast at various angles of protective element observance, is made of material damaged when it is attempted to separate protective element from printing item. Damage is done so that some accidentally arranged parts of damaged layer remain on surface, which is located higher, and others - below damaged layer.

EFFECT: invention has optimised protective properties and high extent of counterfeit protection.
