SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for purifying a volume of aqueous medium with foam floating on it, as well as for purifying manure, liquid dung, liquid industrial wastes, for water purification systems for settling basins and liquid wastes from food production. The system for purifying a volume of aqueous medium has a tank 1, inlet opening 5, outlet opening 6, and apparatus 7 for sucking fluid medium, linked with apparatus 4 for transporting fluid medium. Sucking apparatus 7 can create a descending sucking stream of fluid medium in the transporting apparatus 4 from the inlet opening 5 towards the sucking apparatus 7. The difference between the level of the inlet opening and the level of the sucking apparatus is at least 40 cm.
EFFECT: purification of a layer of foam floating on a liquid.
