FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises comparing actual state of engine main assembly units and pumps in operation with its tolerable values, determining residual life of engine and its assembly units and parts proceeding from the results of aforesaid comparison. Controlled parametre represents the state of working surface defined in three-dimensional coordinate system, i.e. amplitude of variable (dynamic) strains of multi-cycle fatigue, amplitude of variable strains of fatigue in small number of cycles. Residual service life is determined from the change in the distance between aforesaid surface and that of limiting state determined at ground test benches at designed operating conditions of the engine.
