FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the method, characteristics of external magnetic field are determined in the immediate vicinity of the test equipment and are stored in a memory device. Based on these characteristics, parametres are established of the electromagnetic field to which the test equipment (TE) is exposed. Response of the test equipment is recorded, while evaluating probability characteristics of its susceptibility to the electromagnetic field. Characteristics of the external electromagnetic field are recorded, and an electromagnetic field is also generated, to which the test equipment is exposed. Cycles consisting of two parts are carried out. During the first part of the cycle, the characteristic of the external electromagnetic field recorded is the current discrete sequence of readings of its level. Electromagnetic field, to which the test equipment is exposed, is generated in the second part of the said cycle, duration of which is not less than duration of the first part of the cycle. From the current ratios of levels, formed during the said cycles of the irradiating electromagnetic fields, giving rise to response of the test equipment, to the recorded levels of corresponding external electromagnetic fields, electromagnetic compatibility of the test equipment with the neighbouring shipborne equipment is evaluated, from the results of which can be determined whether further action is necessary to provide for compatibility. A hardware system is proposed for assessing electromagnetic compatibility of shipborne equipment.
EFFECT: cutting on costs of fitting ships with equipment.
