FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in electronic optical converters (EOC) designed for converting and amplifying image brightness in various spectrum areas, for recording high-speed processes in mode of moving-image camera recording with subpicosecond time resolution. To cathode assembly of time-analysing electronic optical converter including flat photocathode which is 1 ling and h wide and located on metal base, accelerating electrode, fine-structure mesh, there introduced is metal cathode head piece electrically connected to photocathode and enclosing it, which is made in the form of a hollow rotation body, the generatrix of which comprises with cathode plane the angle θ∈(90°, 150°], radius is R∈[0.81, 21], height of cathode head piece H∈[L/3, L], where L -distance between mesh and cathode, and fine-structure mesh is flat.
EFFECT: simplifying the design of cathode assembly of time-analysing electronic optical converters owing to disuse of spherical elements, improving operating reliability at simultaneous quality improvement of electronic optical converter image.
