FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used namely in electric arc devices for producing low-temperature plasma. Electric arc AC plasmotron includes axisymmetric tubular metal electrodes located along common axis. Electrodes are separated from each other with gas swirler. One of electrodes is covered with end plug and equipped with magnetic coil which encloses cooling jackets. The other electrode has a hot gas outlet hole. Each electrode is equipped with water cooling jacket of external surface. At least one longitudinal through slot is made in electrode with end plug. Slot is longer than magnetic coil but shorter than electrode. Slot is filled with an insert made from non-conducting material. Insert provides tightness of electrode cooling jacket.
EFFECT: invention allows increasing plasmotron operating life.
