FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to cardiosurgery for treatment of mitral insufficience. For this purpose suture plasty of subvalvular structures of mitral valve is performed. Papillary muscles are brought closer by means of oncoming "П"-shaped sutures. Bringing of papillary muscles closer to fibrous ring is achieved by sewing tops of papillary muscles to fibrous ring of mitral valve by formation of 4 neocords from polytetrafluorethylene: 2 from anterior papillary muscle - to border of posterior cusp segments P1-P2; 2 from posterior papillary muscle -to border of posterior cusp segments P2-P3, pulling of brought closer papillary muscles to fibrous valve ring is dosed, calculating length of formed neocords by formula: LNC=LPFR+ln-hk.

EFFECT: claimed method allows to treat mitral insufficiency of III-B type by A Carpentier in patients with dilatation of left ventricle allowing at the same time to preserve native mitral valve, eliminating main pathogenetic mechanisms of development of its insufficiency: increase of distance between papillary muscles bases and between papillary muscles and fibrous ring of mitral valve.
