FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to contour band saws for timber sawing. The band saw consists of an engine, reducers, and driven and bearing-up pairs of pulleys closed with a kinematic chain; also saw blade is stretched between the pulleys in the zone of sawing. Additionally the band saw is equipped with the second engine, and the second driven and bearing-up pairs of pulleys with the sawing blade stretched between the pulleys in the zone of sawing. The first engine transmits driving moment to the first driven pulleys and to the second bearing-up pulleys via a gear pair of bearing-up with reduced reduction ratio to the second bearing-up pulleys. The second engine is made to transmit driven moment to the second driven pulleys and to the first bearing-up pulleys via the gear bearing-up pair with reduced gear ratio.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and accuracy of band saw operation.
