FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy field and can be used in steelmaking for deoxidisation, modification and microalloying of different steels and alloys. Wire contains of steel envelope and filler, containing silicon, calcium in the form of silicate phases and/or metallic calcium and barium in the form of silicate phases. Total amount of silicate phases of barium and calcium in the form of silicate phases and/or metallic form is in filler not less than 50 wt %, and content of phase BaSi2 is not less than 80 wt % from total amount of silicate phases of barium.
EFFECT: introduction of wire into metallurgical melt reduces amount of oxide and sulphide inclusions in finished metal, increasing ensured by it effectiveness of modification and consequently providing increasing of durability, plasticity and impact elasticity of metal.
