FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas turbine engine production and can be used in automatic control systems (ACS) of gas turbine engines (GTE) with free turbine incorporated with gas turbine unit (GTU) designed to drive electric generators (EG) of gas turbine electric power stations (GTEPS). In compliance with this invention, prior to connecting EG to load, GTU turbo compressor RPM is measured and analysed additionally. If aforesaid RPM is lower than preset magnitude determined by designed-experimental method for every GTU type, instructions from automatic synchronisation device to switch on EG and to control GTU power turbine PRM are locked. Preset RPM of GTU free turbine is increased at a rate made specific in acceptance tests. External power circuit frequency is measured and analysed. If GTU free turbine RPM exceeds external power circuit frequency by more than 0.2 Hz, aforesaid locking is cancelled.

EFFECT: higher quality of ACS operation, higher reliability of GTEPS GTU.
