FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to electric engineering, specifically to switching devices, and can be used for protection of electric installations and direct and alternating current lines. Electromagnetic actuator contains magnetic conductor, coil, main armature and trip-free release armature. Technical result is achieved due to the fact that the main armature is installed with possibility of direct-travel movement outside the magnetic conductor, and the trip-free release armature is located in the window of magnetic conductor with possibility of direct-travel movement in magnetic conductor direction being coaxial with and opposite to the movement of the main armature. In this device the main armature moves vertically down when switching off is performed.
EFFECT: increase in operating speed when actuator is switched off.
