FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the metallurgy, particularly to semicontinuous, continuous, continuous-cyclic and cyclic casting. Burnishing tool contains external sleeve and internal sleeve, installed down by bottom and cover with branches for feeding of coolant. Outer surface of external sleeve is implemented with variable taper, and by perimetre of bottom part of sleeve there are implemented openings for outlet of coolant on ingot. Internal sleeve stand out from the external sleeve at a distance 2-50 mm. In side walls of internal sleeve there are implemented openings of diametre 1-20 mm with pitch by height and perimetre equal to 2-6 diametres of openings. In cover there are implemented openings for outlet of coolant into collector, connected to inlet and outlet branches. Coolant from inlet branch is fed into internal sleeve. Through openings in side wall coolant by submerged jet is delivered in space between sleeves and withdrawn into collector. Appearing flow turbulence of coolant leads to decreasing of thickness of thermal boundary layer and to increasing of flowing pressure nearby cooling surface.
EFFECT: there is achieved increasing of cooling intensity of burnishing tool and process productivity.
