FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: stress-tolerant wheat plant is described, where specified wheat plant is transformed with molecule of nucleic acid, which codes ornithineaminotransferase (OAT). Method is disclosed for protection of wheat plant against stress, which includes stage of nucleic acid molecule introduction into wheat plant, where molecule of nucleic acid codes ornithineaminotransferase (OAT). Structure of nucleic acid is presented, including activating agent extracted from plant and gene of ornithineaminotransferase (OAT), where specified structure is able to transform wheat plant so that specified plant of wheat becomes tolerant to stress. Method is disclosed for production of transgenic wheat plant with induced or increased tolerance to salt, including transformation of vegetable tissue or cell of wheat plant with molecule of nucleic acid, which codes ornithineaminotransferase (OAT), regeneration of tissue or cell into whole plant, and expression of OAT in regenerated plant for time and under conditions sufficient for induction or increase of plant tolerance to concentration of salt of more than 100 mM.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain stress-resistant plant.
