FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of studying tsunamis and can be used when monitoring tsunami related seaquakes. A certain number of deep-sea hydrophysical stations are placed in the zone neighbouring the presumed tsunami related seismic centre. At defined time intervals, data which characterise the profile of tsunami waves passing over the station are recorded. Bottom shift amplitude is calculated in real time and the form of the shift is restored.
EFFECT: faster assessment.
