FIELD: nuclear physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering, specifically to methods of controlling power of a group of nuclear reactors, and can be used for increasing radiation and reducing dosage loss when conducting repairs on reactor equipment to reduce defectiveness of fuel-element cladding. The method of controlling output power of nuclear power plant units using systems for controlling and protecting units involves the following operations. During temporary loading of the power generating units, energy of one unit is reduced to 30-50 % of the nominal value and the unit operates at that power level for 16-48 hours. The unit with the longest duration of operation after the last repair is chosen. The unit is then returned to normal power mode.
EFFECT: invention reduces contamination of the heat carrier of inner surfaces of the main process line of the reactor with radio nuclides, increases reliability of operating fuel elements and reduces dosage losses when conducting repairs.
